By default, Facebook makes all your information public. But if you want to keep your profile private, follow the settings below for effective information security.
Unlike Instagram, on Facebook you don’t have a button to completely make your account private. So you need to make settings for each privacy on your profile.
1. Privacy settings on Facebook computer
Step 1: If you use Facebook on a computer, include your profile picture in the upper right corner of the screen >> Settings & privacy .
Continue to select Install .
Step 2: Select Privacy in the left menu.
Step 3: At this screen, you can set privacy features to suit your wishes. Click Edit next to the privacy to change. Example: Who can see your friends list?
Step 4: Change privacy from Public to Only Me or Friends depending on who you allow.
Please continue to do so to edit your privacy rights.
In addition, Facebook also provides you with a very useful Privacy Shortcut tool for you to customize your privacy quickly. Select Check a few important settings at the top of the page.
Step 5: Click on the option Who can see what you share .
Step 6: At the next screen, customize the privacy of your personal information. Decide which items you want to share publicly and which you want to keep to yourself.
When finished, click Next .
Next is the Posts and Stories settings, you can also decide who gets to see future posts.
Step 7: After you complete the section Who can see what you share, continue with the other topics in the Privacy Checkup .
2. Check Facebook privacy on phone
The Facebook mobile app also supports Privacy Checkup to keep you in control of your content.
Step 1: At the main screen of the Facebook application on your phone, click on the 3 dashes in the lower right corner to open the menu.
Step 2: Scroll down the list and select Settings & privacy >> Settings. Continue to select Privacy Checkup .
Step 3: Check the box “Who can see what you share” that appears first.
Step 4: Click Continue and start installing privacy security according to your needs.
Step 5: Go through the three settings including Profile Info, Posts and Stories, Block , you will complete the topic of your content.
