The Economist Intelligence Unit’s (EIU) Global Liveability Index ranks Osaka, Japan as the 10th most liveable city in the world.
9. Canada’s Great White North is very well represented this year, with 3 of its cities, including Toronto, making the top 10.
Canada’s Calgary dropped 3 places on this year’s list, ranked 7th – a highly rated city.
The Swiss city of Geneva has increased its education score this year. This city also ranked 7th.
Zurich is the second Swiss city to make the top 10, with Zurich also scoring high in the education category.
Vancouver, Canada: Vancouver is the highest ranked Canadian city on a list of 173 cities in the world.
Australia’s Sydney has climbed back up the list after falling out of the top 10 last year.
Dubbed the cultural capital of Australia, Melbourne rose to third place. Melbourne scored higher in the healthcare category this year, after falling behind due to Covid-19.
Denmark’s Copenhagen holds the 2nd place on the list for 2023.
Austria’s Vienna is once again on top. Vienna was praised for its “reliable” infrastructure, outstanding culture and entertainment, and “exemplary” education and healthcare.
