Banana is a fruit that many people like to eat and it also has many health benefits. When buying bananas, it is best to choose curved bananas. When newly planted bananas are relatively straight. As the banana becomes more and more mature, its shape will change and it will gradually begin to bend. Therefore, the curved banana will have a sweeter and more aromatic taste.
Although bananas are delicious, bananas are not easy to store. Some people preserve it by placing bananas directly in the refrigerator. However, after only 1-2 days, when opening the refrigerator, the surface of bananas has basically started to turn black, so it is considered that bananas that are often bought are not suitable for storage in the refrigerator. . If they are stored in the refrigerator, bananas will spoil faster.
During a visit to buy bananas, I was instructed by the owner of the fruit shop on how to preserve bananas, for half a month, not black, not damaged.
First, we will prepare a basin of light salted water to wash the bananas. Some bananas have a surface ripening agent. We need to wash these ingredients to extend the shelf life of bananas.
Next, we prepare a new pot of clean water, rinse the bananas and clean the ripening ingredients on the surface. The cleaning process should not be too long, just a quick wash.
After that, we put the banana on the paper towel, then use the paper towel to wipe it to wipe off the water on the surface of the banana. At the same time, you should also check the banana for any bruises. If the banana is damaged, we need to discard it.
Next, take a knife and cut off the stem of the banana. If the banana stem is rotten, we will cut it off, which is also beneficial to prolong the shelf life of bananas.
Then, use a piece of plastic wrap to completely cover the stem of the banana. In the process of preserving bananas, an ethylene gas will be produced, this gas is a ripening agent, so we cover it tightly to prevent this gas from escaping, thereby prolonging the shelf life of bananas.
Finally, we take a string through the banana stalk to hang the banana to preserve it to prolong the freshness of the banana.
Why can it be preserved this way?
We hang bananas and store them in a ventilated place so that the ethylene gas released by the bananas is easily dispersed by the wind, thereby slowing down the ripening speed of the bananas and prolonging the banana’s freshness. And hang up for storage, only the roots of the bananas are stretched, and the other places should not touch the ground, which can also prevent the bananas from being crushed, blackened and damaged.
